Hales Corners Village Hall, 5635 S. New Berlin Rd- Hales
Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty will present the 9th of their Dirty Dozen Case Studies: Kelo v. City of New London (2005)
US Supreme Court case considered whether the Constitution permitted a
government to use the power of eminent domain to seize a private
citizen’s home and give the property to another private citizen or
corporation. Kelo opened the floodgates for eminent domain abuse
before 43 states acted to restrict the abuse of power. Today, there are
still problems in some states with eminent domain abuse. In Wisconsin, the state statutes were revised but the definition of “blight” is so loose that the revisions mean nothing.
The case study includes looking at the impact on Wisconsin post-Kelo.
The Dirty Dozen Series looks at the 12 worst US Supreme Court decisions since 1933.
After the case study, we will discuss the group’s 2015-16 Legislative Agenda.
April 2015 Guest speaker Milw. Co. Sheriff David Clarke

This has been a busy year for the Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty. We have been working with several Wisconsin legislators in an effort to enact legislation. We have also worked to offer informative presentations at the monthly open meetings. The speakers include our own Tim Dake who is continuing to present cases based on the book "The Dirty Dozen". Dr David Stein presented on the options remaining under Obama Care, and recently we hosted guest speakers Sheriff David Clarke, Vickie McKenna and Atty Troupis, and Senator Ron Johnson. As always, welcome to the open meetings and bring friends.
